    Who Won the First FIFA World Cup?

    The first World Cup was held in 1930 in Uruguay. Uruguay defeated Argentina 4-2 in the final to win the tournament, and the two countries had previously met in the 1928 Olympics. In 1950, Uruguay won its second World Cup, beating Brazil 2-1 in Rio de Janeiro. Uruguay was a favorite to win the first World Cup, and would later win a record six World Cups wikipous.

Although Hungary took the lead early in the tournament, West Germany responded with two goals in the 18th minute. After that, the score remained tied until the 84th minute when Helmut Rahn scored the winning goal. Afterwards, Germany went on to make eight World Cup finals.
