Children need time to play, but they need structured time to do so. An hour-long structured activity, such as going to school, can sap the energy of children who need to spend time playing. Recent studies have shown that kids with overly organized schedules are more likely to develop depression or anxiety. Instead, encourage your children to spend time playing with no rules or restrictions. Let them choose their activities, and limit their game use until they have finished them.
