Easy Ways To Relieve Endometriosis Symptoms

    HenryBy HenryDecember 6, 2021No Comments3 Mins Read

If you have endometriosis, you will know how painful the symptoms can get. The condition is a disorder where the endometrial cells in the woman’s reproductive organs grow outside the uterus. Pelvic pain is a common sign of endometriosis. This pain can get even worse during menstruation.

There are no known cures for endometriosis for now. When your pain gets severe, an endometriosis specialist in Midtown West can help you manage the condition. However, you can do a few things to relieve the pain at home.

Ways to relieve endometriosis symptoms at home:

    1. Heating pad.

You may often use heating pads to get relief from your menstrual cramps. Heating pads can help relax the pelvic muscles, reducing the pain. Relaxing the muscles also helps keep the blood flowing.

    2. Massaging your pelvic.

Massaging your pelvic area around the abdomen, sides, and back can help relieve the endometriosis pain. You may do this massage with oil.

    3. Anti-inflammatory drugs.

If you require quick relief from the pain, you can opt for anti-inflammatory drugs found over the counter. They may include ibuprofen and naproxen. It is recommended to take them with food and not take them for more than one week.

    4. Warm bath.

Just like a heating pad can relax your pelvic muscles and provide relief, a warm bath surrounds your body with heat, which reduces pain and helps relax your body, making you feel good overall.

    5. Turmeric.

Turmeric has been famous for its anti-inflammatory properties for decades. You can easily include turmeric in your diet by mixing it with milk, buying tea bags with turmeric, and adding it to food items as a spice. Or, you can opt for turmeric supplements found in the form of capsules.

    6. Add anti-inflammatory foods to your diet.

Although this is not a quick way to get rid of your pain, it can offer relief in the long term. By including food items in your diet that do not cause inflammation, you can reduce the symptoms of endometriosis in the future. The foods you need to take are as follows.

    • Celery
    • Green leafy vegetables
    • Broccoli
    • Salmon
    • Blueberry
    • Ginger
    • Chia seeds
    • Bone broth

    7. Omega-3 supplements.

Omega-3 fatty acids can help fight the symptoms of endometriosis and pain. Good sources of omega-3 are mostly fish like salmon and sardines. You may also take supplements. Speak to your doctor for brand recommendations.

    8. Light exercise.

Every day, a little exercise can release endorphins in your body, which are the “feel good” hormones. These can reduce pain and estrogen levels in your body to help relieve the symptoms.
